Where things are headed
imagined by: James Mathias
It’s difficult to say, it’s harder to know. Moving on, and moving away, I’ve done it plenty of times in my lifetime. I’ve always adapted to and embraced the new that comes after departing the old.
This web-site has been around since April 1st 2001. leihu.com. It’s part of who I am, and it’s part of my life online and off. It’s gone through as many incarnations as it has designs. Its always been a playground and unfinished place for me to experiment and talk.
leihu.com has introduced me to many great people and it’s also drawn to me many soul suckers but, I wouldn’t change that for the world, it’s been a great benefit to me in my growth as a human, father and husband.
But something is going to change.
leihu.com as it is today will be no longer.
I’m not a blogger, never have been really, I don’t have the desire, patience or time.
This begs the question; What am I?
I’m a content producer. I’m a writer of fiction and non-fiction, I’m an artist, I’m a film maker, I’m a web developer, I’m a father, I’m a son, I’m a husband and I’m lost just like everyone else.
My content has never been that of traditional blogging, or mini blogging or news aggregation.
It’s always been and always will be of a creative bent and nature. Things that can’t be generalized under a single umbrella. Things, beautiful and thought out things that can’t be formatted in a blog like structure.
I need a recreation of structure, a rethought idea of how this site will work in the best interest of what it exists to contain.
It’s content, my content, your content. Art. Music. Video. Tales spun and journeys taken.
I want to represent to you my loyal and friend filled audience, exactly everything you’ve been missing.
My best content lay dormant, while my newest content steals all the thunder. My plan is to re-imagine what this site can be and present it to you with all the greatness in tact.
I hope that you’ll hang in there with me and I promise the wait will be worth it.
Thanks for listening.

Though I’ve probably followed you more closely through flickr, I’ve found myself drawn to your site over and over again - be it through internet searches or links from other sites… There’s just something about you and your site that keeps drawing me in. Everyone, everything has to go through a rebirth, a reimagining at some point. Your site is no different. I, for one, look forward to what you create next.

Thanks Chris, I appreciate the support. I agree as well everything needs to adapt and move forward or else it becomes old and stagnant.
I’m thrilled to hear that the site keeps you coming back though, I hope it has that effect for a long time to come.
As it would become pointless to publish content that had no audience.

Many things to say… need time to formulate reply.
You know I will always have your back regardless of what you choose to do.

James, I wish you well as you figure out your new challenge with Leihu.
Please, if you go completely away from the blog stuff, I would love to see you maintain the old blog archive pages for future reference.

Having recently destroyed my own blog for similar reasons (I’m not a blogger either), I can completely relate. I, too, am looking forward to what you do in the future. Just make sure it doesn’t turn into one of those “indefinite hiatuses”

Looking forward to what you come up with. The important thing is your site is what you want it to be and nobody should sway you. Blogging isn’t just about writing and content producing in any form can be seen as blogging in my book. Whatever you come up with I’m sure I will be enjoying it.

Part of being human is change. Things change, people change, what we want changes all the time. I’m looking forward to see the changes.

Good luck with whatever you decided to do with the site!
I think we all will go through this at some point. I know I don’t plan to be a blogger for the rest of my life… =P
With the arrival of a baby in my life in the coming weeks, I know my blogging life will change drastically too! I’m ready for that challenge and change though.
Best of Luck my friend. K.I.T.

I look forward to what you come up with next. I don’t get over here as often as I’d like, but have always enjoyed the great design and appealing the look and feel is.
I took a hiatus from my blog for almost a year and am just getting back to giving it a try again.
I struggle with that same question of who am I, I feel like all the time. I’m looking at going back to school to finish my degree, this weekend, printing out application forms. Not sure where it will all lead. Maybe I’ll feel more like someone who knows what they’re doing.

James, I don’t subscribe to or read any blogs. I don’t check any other website as often as I check yours. I appreciate the art that you have created and I will be behind any journey you embark on. If you need any help, let me know.
Good luck, whatever you do!
