Jeffrey and the Pot
imagined by: James Mathias

Jeffrey had a pot, his pot was empty. This made Jeffrey sad. Jeffrey wanted to fill his pot with something, but Jeffrey didn’t know what.
One day Jeffrey was walking around with his pot when in the distance he saw something… something he could put in his pot. Jeffrey ran towards the pot-filling something. Jeffrey ran and ran and ran and ran. Jeffrey got tired. Jeffrey decided nothing was that important and decided to go look for something else–closer by–to put in his pot.
Jeffrey is now forty-seven years old and has been searching for something to put in his pot for the last twenty-seven years.
Jeffrey is sad, he has a pot and his pot is empty.
This week’s Illustration Friday topic is “Empty”, and of course I can’t do anything seriously so I present the above for your viewing and reading pleasure.

haha! I like your commentary on Jeffrey’s situation with the pot. Metaphorically sad, but so true for so many of us. Good style in the artwork too!

lol I enjoyed that too and very true in some ways.
How long did it take you to draw that? (on average how long does it take you to make all of your artwork here in your blog?)

Thanks Guys! I’m glad that you enjoyed Jeffrey’s plight.
@Logan, It takes me about 2-3 hours total from idea to post the bulk of that being the coloring process in Photoshop.

Your illustration and story made me laugh out loud! Maybe Jeffrey should be looking elsewhere for something else to fill a different vessel…?
Great illustration!

Has he been borrowing socks from Johnson?

In the world of my mind, that brand of socks is very popular.

Hi James. Nice art work as usual!
I can relate to Jeffrey at the moment. My pot is still empty.

Too bad about Jeffery’s pot. But what about his beverage cooler ? Is that full? Or is there a certain someone’s face stored in there…
:-D

Jeffrey does not currently own a beverage cooler, but if he did I doubt highly that anything aside from beverages would be stored there within.
