It happens, and changes
Sitting here thinking about things and how they change. How much I used to love video games and movies and TV and music. And how I have such unbridled access to all things entertaining, and how I’m slowly becoming jaded and overwhelmed by it all.
I’m losing interest.
Maybe, this is what happens as you get older, your tastes change and evolve.
Occasionally, I find something I enjoy doing, unfortunately these things are few and far between and their lifespans are finite and often not something I’d feel like revisiting in the future.
So what to do? I don’t know but I am open to suggestions.
I guess shit happens and shit changes.

What are some things that you occasionally enjoying doing?
People say that “the finer things in life are the ones that matter most”, so maybe experiencing so many things is exactly what you need. Every experience is added to your character, and what makes you who you are. With an open mind, and the willingness to try anything, you will probably come across at least one thing you really enjoy doing repeatedly.
To me, it seems that the things I enjoy doing the most all the time are the things I can constantly improve in. Design, Programming, Photography, Mixed Martial Arts, Writing, Logic & Reasoning, Speech, Conversing, and so forth. I too lost interest in video games (about 5 years ago), and I haven’t really enjoyed TV since I started college (about 4 years ago). I also have these crazy ambitions to travel the entire world, learn about different cultures and ways of life, experience and see the world in ways most people never do, all while photographing and documenting everything that I would like to some day turn into a book of experiences and worldly travels. It’s never too late to start, so whenever I do have enough money to do this, and things start to settle in my life, like family, business, and so forth, I will set out on this journey.
Today, however, I will continue taking part in the things that I like most. I’ve also been meaning to start attending conferences and meeting more like-minded people. After all, if we don’t surround ourselves in an environment we’re comfortable with (not only physical, but social), we will lose our minds.

Since I wrote this article, I rediscovered Magic The Gathering, and have been playing that a lot. It keeps my attention and helps me flex my brain. I’m really happy that I found Magic again after all these years (I played heavily in the early days of the game). It’s been a fun way to connect with my sons and even my wife gets in on the fun.
I think traveling the world would be fun, so long as I always had my house with me. :)
I like feeling comfortable and that is normally at home, or anywhere so long as my wife is with me.
