I am a Fortunate Man
Sometimes I feel alone and cut off and weak. Though I am not. I have a family, good family and friends, good friends.
I am a fortunate man.
I get paid to do something I’m great at, and that I truly love. I have three young boys that love me and look up to me and hug me just when I need it most. I have a wife, that not only puts up with my crap, but makes sure I always feel loved, somewhere safe to come back to, an unconditional friend to talk to. She’ll hold me when I’m down, She’ll pick me up when I fall. But, most importantly she’s still there even when I don’t need her at all.
I’ve got friends, true blue friends that care for me, people who see past my enormous flaws and let me into their lives even when I can be unbearable and flighty and downright cruel. Friends that understand me, and let me be me.
I’ve got a nice affordable place to live, in a nice quiet area close to work and friends. I’ve got a reliable comfortable car to drive and enough money to survive.
I am a fortunate man. I truly need for little and want for less.
I have dreams, aspirations and goals, everyone does, but when I sit back and really think about it…
I am a fortunate man.

More than a fortunate man, you’re a hard working and skilled man. Don’t give so much up to luck, sir.
Ah, I just read on your about page that you are training for a half in November. Excellent!
Thank you for the sweet words my love. You deserve to be happy and healthy! I’ll always be here for you, always.
This is a pleasant turn around. I was very excited to read these words this morning James. :)
That’s more like it!
Thanks All! This has been a hard week getting back on track, but my wife has been a real support system here and I’m right on track again, feeling great.
Not only are you fortunate but inspiring aswell. Been having a down day and some of the things you have I must still get.. Can get intimidating.. but your post is inspiring.
This requires no feedback.

As a new guy to your site, I was inspired by yesterday’s post. Also you’ve really earned my respect with your honesty and insight. Are you a fan of running? I find that signing up for races that I know will kick my ass tends to keep me motivated. I’m not skinny btw.
